Borneo Bird ( Hornbill ) is one of the rare bird species that can be found in Kalimantan. They are characterized by a long, down-curved bill which is frequently brightly colored and sometimes has a casque on the upper mandible
Many Culture believe it to be the chief of worldly birds or the supreme worldly bird, and its statue is used to welcome the god of the augural birds. The Dayak tribe of Borneo consider the hornbills emblematic of the spirit of God. Having a hornbill fly over a household was a sign of good fortune to come. As such, hornbills are incorporated into aspects of their culture, like their art, ceremonial dresses, and dances.
